 Astrid ionizers are designed and built in the UK  
by  D J Clarke (electronics)

 We are a family-owned business based in Essex, England.  We started designing and manufacturing ionizers in 1977. 

QUALITY

Our high efficiency ionizers have been developed in conjunction with a series of tests, in a specialist environmental chamber at  the University of Surrey in England. This is the laboratory run by Dr Leslie Hawkins, famous for his work on "sick building syndrome" who conducted various  experiments involving positive and negative ions on people in the workplace.  You will find references to his work on this and many other websites. The specifications of  our ionizers have been verified by  Dr Hawkins himself.

Our ionizers are built to our very exacting standards. Each one is thoroughly tested for both output and safety before it is despatched and all  comply with UK and European electrical interference and safety regulations.

ETHICS

As an electronics company, we build equipment to the parameters that scientific researchers specify, but are not involved in the research itself. We would like to make it clear that we have never had any involvement with the often unpleasant experiments (documented elsewhere on this site) that have been carried out on animals in the name of scientific research. We include these articles only because they are now historical facts. We live a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle and so all our products are as "animal friendly" and "environmentally friendly" as we can possibly make them.
